For anyone who’s ever lingered in the produce department, deliberating between the organic and the conventional apples, a new study released a few days ago is not likely to help you decide–though it has revived the discussion of whether organic food is worth the extra cost. Stanford researchers released a study where they examined 223 studies about food contamination, and 17 studies in humans.

The results were highly ambiguous. The researchers reported that organic produce probably isn’t more nutritious than conventional, though you might reduce your exposure to pesticide residues and antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

Essentially, a personal decision is going to remain that way–highly personal. Some people buy organic because they think it’s healthier for their kids, while some think organic is better for the planet. Others always go for conventional, reasoning that eating plenty of healthy produce is more affordable this way.

Because this is All You, we have great tips to spend less on food, no matter what you choose. From these ten great tips for finding cheaper organics, to avoiding supermarket spending traps, we try and help you find the best food for the least cash–organic or conventional.
